MG+M’s culture of diversity and inclusion shows in the firm’s approach to litigation, says partner Javier Flores. “Instead of requiring that everyone operate the same way, we give our attorneys the autonomy to develop case strategies based on their own experiences. By not forcing conformity we encourage racial, religious, gender and other differences to flourish."
As co-chair of the firm’s diversity and inclusion committee, Javier is closely involved with the firm’s diversity hiring efforts. The firm is actively seeking to increase its pool of diverse applicants for every hiring opportunity, he says. “Companies want vendors whose makeup reflects the makeup of the corporation. We’ve made a real commitment in this area because we believe people with diverse perspectives bring fresh approaches to serving our clients.”
Javier, who serves as National Secretary of the Hispanic National Bar Association, is proud that many MG+M lawyers are active in diverse bar associations and community organizations. “Giving people the freedom to stay involved with programs they believe in strengthens us as individuals and as a group,” he says.
