Katie E. Doherty received her B.S. in criminal justice from Lindenwood University, graduating summa cum laude while working full time as a St. Louis County Corrections Officer. During that time, she was selected for the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society based upon her academic achievement.
Katie earned her J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law where she was a Dean’s Scholar recipient during each semester of her studies. She also received an Academic Excellence Award for achieving the highest grade in her Criminal Defense Clinic and was featured in a SLU Law article, which highlighted her success in negotiating wages for St. Louis County corrections officers.
While a St. Louis County Corrections Officer, Katie received a Director’s Citation Medal of Commendation during her service for meritorious conduct while on duty. She subsequently received the honor of being named the St. Louis County Department of Justice Services Employee of the Year for 2017. Katie maintained full-time employment with St. Louis County while she was in law school and during the bar exam.
Katie resides in St. Louis County with her husband and son. She is licensed to practice in Missouri and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Missouri and Illinois State Bar Associations, The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, and the Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater St. Louis. She enjoys playing softball, camping, and attending St. Louis sporting events in her free time.
