Partners David Frohn and Raúl Chacón Jr. to Speak at the 3rd Annual ABYC Marine Law Symposium
August 17, 2018

Overview

Congratulations to Partners David Frohn and Raúl Chacón Jr. who have been selected to be speakers at the 3rd Annual ABYC Marine Law Symposium on January 8, 2019 in Seattle, WA

At the ABYC Marine Law Symposium, David will host a case study on Warren V. Shelter Mutual, a multi-million-dollar law suit that went through several courthouses. David’s presentation will detail the unusual twists and turns this case took over the course of 10 years. David has more than 35 years of jury trial, products liability, and insurance litigation experience, and focuses his practice on the defense of domestic and international manufacturers of consumer and industrial products. David has extensive experience defending claims involving recreational vehicles and boats; personal watercraft; medical equipment, implants and devices; firearms; industrial tools and machinery; refinery and chemical plant process vessels; commercial transportation vehicles; and electromechanical fire cause and origin.

In contrast, Raúl will host a session called “The Mock Deposition” at the ABYC Marine Law Symposium, where he will depose an expert witness. His presentation is designed to help experts (and attorneys) avoid common tricks/tactics that are often used to confuse and misdirect the expert witness. Currently Raúl is a partner in our Miami office and his practice focuses on a variety of litigation areas, including maritime, personal injury, products liability, premises liability, and commercial litigation. He has extensive experience as national and local counsel on marine products liability matters and has represented clients from jurisdictions as far north as Canada and throughout the Continental U.S., Hawaii, the Caribbean and South America. He has tried over 60 cases to verdict in the state and federal courts. He also is regularly appointed to act as national and local counsel by insurance companies on admiralty and maritime matters.

Congratulations again to David and Raúl for receiving these prestigious speaking opportunities at the ABYC Marine Law Symposium. To register and to see a full agenda, please visit the event website
