Overview

Robert Cavanagh has represented a variety of clients before the federal and state courts of Rhode Island and Massachusetts, as well as the Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He is involved with all phases of litigation, including discovery and depositions, dispositive and pre-trial motions, and trial preparation, and has successfully advocated for clients in mediation and arbitration. With over a decade of litigation experience, Robert understands the value of identifying the key issues in each case as early as possible and driving the litigation process to meet them.

Prior to joining MG+M, Robert worked at a Providence-based civil litigation firm for many years. He also served as a prosecutor for a Rhode Island municipality and worked as a judicial law clerk for the Rhode Island Superior Court.

Robert received his law degree from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2011, where he served as president of the Moot Court Board and graduated magna cum laude. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College in 2005, where he majored in government and legal studies.

Outside the office, Robert enjoys coaching his sons’ youth hockey teams and watching his daughter's softball games.
