Alex began his legal career as a public defender representing individuals facing difficult legal issues. "Working as a public defender opened my eyes to the difficulties and hardships some individuals face in our legal system. The people I represented were facing challenges I had never personally experienced," Alex says. "That time helped me to realize that everyone is entitled to equal justice, but doesn't always receive it.” This experience provoked Alex to join the conversation on equity and diversity in all aspects of American life, particularly in the workplace.
Alex Baker is a partner in the MG+M Chicago office. He has led this office since its inception with day to day operations, and in 2019 the office tripled in size. "As the office grew, I saw the opportunity to focus on building a diverse workforce which in time would mirror the diversity of the city in which we practice. I'm pleased to be a part of this significant cultural change within the legal community."
