Austin D. O’Malley joined the firm in 2018 as an Associate at the firm’s New York City location. He concentrates his practice on toxic tort and product liability defense.
Austin received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2012. While in law school, he interned for the Honorable Kevin G. Callahan, Judge for the Superior Court of New Jersey in Hudson County, Criminal Division. During this time, he also worked for a Jersey Shore law firm, focusing mainly on civil litigation and trusts and estates. After graduating, Austin served as a law clerk for the Honorable Kenneth J. Grispin, Presiding Judge for the Superior Court of New Jersey in Union County, Civil Division, and the Honorable Alan G. Lesnewich, Judge for the Superior Court of New Jersey in Union Country, Civil Division.
Prior to joining MG+M, Austin spent several years in the litigation department of a New York City law firm, specializing in toxic tort and product liability defense as well as construction litigation. His experience includes defense of product and equipment manufacturers and suppliers, utility contractors, insurance carriers, real estate developers, and property owners. He has been involved in various aspects of pre-trial discovery, including depositions and site inspections, and has worked throughout trial and post-trial proceedings.
Austin is licensed to practice law in the states of New York and New Jersey, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York, and the District of New Jersey.
He is an active member of the Walk the Walk foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, charitable organization focused on serving a variety of causes. He helps organize and run Walk the Walk’s annual Thanksgiving Dinner for senior citizens in Hoboken, NJ.
He received his B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2009. A Jersey Shore native, Austin currently resides in Hoboken, NJ.
