MG+M Partner Candice Kusmer has learned firsthand the importance of developing and implementing successful diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging strategies. She knows that diverse lawyers bring with them a wealth of perspective and experiences which then translate into creative and winning litigation plans. Since joining the firm, Candice has been impressed with MG+M’s diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging initiatives, and has promised to help champion those endeavors wherever possible. “It’s refreshing that diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging is not simply a buzz phrase at MG+M,” Candice says. “Beginning at the top, the firm recognizes the inherent value of inclusive teamwork and weaves its commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging throughout all aspects of the practice of law.”

Candice co-chairs MG+M’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion + Belonging Committee and is an active member of the MG+M Women’s Forum in O’Fallon. The Women’s Forum seeks to foster collegial relationships within the office, to implement business partnerships both within and outside of the firm, and to provide a range of opportunities for members to give back to the community. Outside the firm, Candice is an active member of the National Association of Women Lawyers, and has longtime served as a mentor for Washington University in St. Louis School of Law’s “Women Mentoring Women.” This program is comprised of alumnae and friends dedicated to diving into productive and meaningful conversations about women in the legal field, and benefits Wash U’s Women’s Law Caucus and Women of Color Law Society. “When young law students ask what firms today are doing to ensure inclusion in the workplace, I am proud to be able to convey MG+M’s vision and leadership in this area.”
