Jennifer Whelan is a partner in the MG+M Boston and Providence offices. She focuses on a wide variety of civil defense litigation matters. During her 25 years of practice, she has seen first-hand the difficulty women have faced in the legal profession, finding herself to be among very few female members/partners at previous law firms during earlier years of practice. Jennifer is focused on mentoring younger attorneys to navigate the legal profession. She is passionate about professional education for legal professionals, running various programs at MG+M; she established a mentoring program at MG+M; and she has served as chair of MG+M’s Women’s Forum. As a first-generation American and mother of three daughters, issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion are constant topics of discussion. She coached her daughters in nearly every youth sport they chose to participate in, often one of very few female coaches in earlier years, and she serves on the boards of directors for both local and regional soccer organizations, focused on community involvement.
