Overview

Katherine Kaplan is an associate based in MG+M’s Miami office, where her practice focuses primarily on maritime litigation, products liability and general liability. Prior to joining MG+M, Katherine worked as an associate specializing in longshore and harbor workers' compensation insurance defense.

Katherine earned her law degree from Tulane University School of Law, with a certificate of specialization in admiralty and maritime law. During her time at Tulane, Katherine served as a notes and comments editor for the Tulane Maritime Law Journal and the principle assistant editor for the Chinese maritime cases database with the Tulane Maritime Law Center. Katherine also completed externships with the US Office of Homeland Security and the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office, Civil Division, Lands and Natural Resources Section. 

Katherine received her Bachelor of Arts from Florida State University in classical archeology and art history, as well as a minor in museum studies. Katherine is passionate about the preservation of cultural heritage and continues to devote her time outside of work to historic preservation efforts around the city of Miami and beyond.
