Mentoring Moment: Tough, But Temporary. I am coming off of a short vacation, one that was planned for Italy. We all know how that came out. But what we don't know is exactly how or when the COVID-19 slowdown is going to end. And I suspect that is precisely what has people in a panic. I used the last few days to think about a lot of things, including how I am going to conduct my business during this uncertain time. Here are some of my conclusions. 1. See the good: much of what we do in the legal space can be accomplished remotely. Others are not so lucky. 2. Look past the bad: instead, identify opportunities to change habits, protocols, and work systems for the better. 3. Take advantage of a different pace: connect with colleagues, clients and coworkers that you have intended to reach out to but are always just too busy. 4. Serve others: there is not a better antidote for feeling down. 5. Be certain: although this challenge is tough, it is temporary.
So well said Bernadette! Thank you for those thoughts.
