Candice Kusmer enjoys working with several of the firm’s major clients, oversees the firm’s asbestos docket in Central Illinois and handles high-level matters in Madison County.
Candice received a B.A. degree in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma, minoring in both Latin and Women’s Studies. She was a four-year H.H. Herbert School of Journalism and Mass Communications Scholarship recipient and was a nationally-selected intern for the National Association of Television Programming Executives (NATPE).
Candice received her J.D. degree in 2002 from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. While there, she was the School of Law Gustavus A. Buder & Gustavus A. Buder, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Recipient in 2001 and served on the School of Law Public Service Advisory Board from 2000-2002.
Candice has been selected as a “Rising Star” by Illinois Super Lawyers in 2009, 2010, and consecutively from 2012-2016. Rising Stars account for no more than 2.5 percent of the State’s attorneys age 40 or younger, or those attorneys who have been practicing law for 10 years or less. She is a member of the Illinois Appellate Lawyers Association, St. Clair County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and the Missouri Bar Association. She is admitted to practice law in the States of Illinois and Missouri, and in the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Illinois and the Eastern District of Missouri.
Candice is a longtime member of the Junior Service Club of Saint Clair County, a women’s service organization which donates time and resources to local charities. She particularly enjoys volunteering as a reader for Mind’s Eye, a free service which broadcasts readings of newspapers, magazines, books and advertisements to the blind or print-impaired.
Originally from Oklahoma and a loyal Sooner fan, Candice now resides in O’Fallon, Illinois with her husband and daughters.
