Overview

Mary Kay Glaspy is a partner with MG+M’s Complex Litigation Practice Group, practicing in the firm’s Walnut Creek office. She has practiced in California for over 25 years, and is a seasoned litigator, trial attorney, and an experienced litigation manager.

Mary Kay concentrates her practice on litigation with particular focus on construction site injury and transportation claims. She has extensive experience representing home builders, general contractors, and design professional in large construction defect cases both in residential and commercial projects throughout the state of California. She has significant experience with construction defects, catastrophic injury, products and premises liability, real estate, and infectious disease counseling and litigation and COVID-19. Over her years of practice Mary Kay has also developed significant expertise counseling on complex contractual obligations related to indemnification between numerous parties. Mary Kay has tried both personal injury and construction defect cases to verdict and successfully argued cases at the appellate level throughout the state of California. Additionally, she has an established record of success arguing dispositive motions on behalf of her clients.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mary Kay worked for several years as a registered nurse at a trauma center, specializing in medical surgical nursing and the treatment of spinal injuries, catastrophic head injuries, severe burns, and orthopedic injuries. Her medical background provides her with a specialized approach to injury analysis and damage evaluation, and she has frequently served as a litigation consultant, analyzed medical records, and evaluated injury claims.

Mary Kay is a sought-after speaker for industry groups and educational seminars, frequently presenting on recent developments in construction and product liability law, and on the topic of developing best practices and claims handling and damage evaluation. She is a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, the Contra Costa County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the California Building Industry Association.

A California native, Mary Kay received her J.D. from Santa Clara University and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Mary Kay was admitted to practice law in the state of California in 1991. 

Mary Kay resides in Danville, California with her husband Clark and has two grown children, Ben and Sara. Beyond her legal work, Mary Kay is a volunteer with animal rescue groups and hospice, and enjoys playing soccer and reading.
