Overview

 Jeff McLucas is a versatile and proven litigator with more than 25 years of experience. A partner in the firm, Jeff has represented corporations and various business entities nationwide as well as individuals in state and federal court, before state and federal administrative agencies, and in mediation and arbitration proceedings.

Jeff maintains a diverse civil litigation practice, concentrating on employment law and corresponding litigation, contract disputes, premises liability, insurance defense, toxic tort litigation, infectious disease counseling and litigation, COVID-19, and professional liability claims. He frequently advises and represents corporations, businesses and individuals in numerous matters related to employment rights, wage and hour issues and litigation. Jeff’s employment litigation experience has covered virtually all forms of discrimination cases, including retaliation and whistleblower claims, and he represented property owners in disability accessibility litigation under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Jeff is also a certified trainer in discrimination prevention through the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, and periodically conducts internal training for employers and advises them on internal employment policies. In addition to his experience in state and federal court, Jeff has trial experience before the MCAD, the EEOC and the United States Department of Labor.

As a civil litigator and trial attorney, Jeff also represents businesses and individuals in a wide variety of tort, contract and other commercial disputes. His general liability defense practice focuses on working primarily with various self-insured companies, their insurers, and claims administrators. Jeff has litigated a large volume and wide variety of cases ranging from premises liability litigation, motor vehicle negligence, construction litigation involving personal injury matters and contract disputes, negligent security lawsuits, Chapter 93A claims and disputes, products liability claims, and toxic or environmental exposure cases.

Jeff received his law degree from Suffolk University Law School, and his undergraduate degree from Bates College. After graduating from Suffolk, he served as a Law Clerk to the Justices of the Superior Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
