Overview

Joshua Severit is an experienced litigator who focuses his practice on a diverse range of complex areas including toxic tort, products liability, personal injury, commercial trucking and transportation, and defense of school districts and educators.

A native of Madison County, Illinois, Joshua currently helps oversee the firm's active Madison County asbestos docket. He also serves as National Coordinating Counsel for major product manufacturers and routinely defends local, national, and multinational clients in all phases of the litigation process from inception through trial in challenging jurisdictions all over the country. With over a decade of litigation experience, he has achieved favorable outcomes for product manufacturers, corporations, school districts, and educators.

Prior to joining MG+M, Joshua spent six years with a prominent Madison County defense litigation firm where he successfully defended a variety of litigated claims in the areas of general liability, contract, personal injury, premises liability, products liability, insurance coverage, commercial trucking, and toxic tort. There, he gained substantial first chair jury trial experience personally trying over eight cases to verdict in less than six years.

Joshua graduated cum laude from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2010. While in law school, he was a member of the Moot Court Board and was inducted into the National Order of Barristers for his outstanding participation and performance as a student advocate.

Joshua is licensed to practice in Illinois and is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association. He has been named an Emerging Lawyer in toxic tort defense by Leading Lawyers since 2016. Aside from work, he is an avid practitioner in the martial art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
