MG+M attorney Raúl Chacón will be speaking at the 2nd annual American Boat and Yacht Council Marine Law Symposium on April 10th in Charleston, South Carolina.
The 2018 conference, titled Anatomy of an Accident, is a premier training event that will prepare attendees to navigate the legal aspects of recreational boating accidents. It will host 15 speakers presenting many maritime litigation topics, including five case study panels that discuss engaging and relevant lawsuits, as well as a round-table Q&A.
Raúl, a partner in MG+M’s Miami office, is one of the firm’s leading maritime attorneys. He is vice chair of the Florida Bar Maritime Law Committee and a member of the Florida Bar Admiralty & Maritime Law Board Certification Committee, the Cuban American Bar Association, and the League of Prosecutors. He also is an adjunct professor of marine insurance law at the University of Miami School of Law, and is Board Certified in admiralty and maritime law by the Florida Bar Association. He has been published and has presented on various topics, including maritime law and practice, handling maritime claims in the U.S., management of maintenance and cure, risk shifting in maritime contracts, products liability, and analysis of U.S. Supreme Court decisions.
