MG+M Volunteers Serve Lunch to Veterans at NECHV

On Tuesday October 10th, employees from MG+M’s Boston office spent the afternoon volunteering at the New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV). The organization is a national leader in housing and serving veterans who are at risk of homelessness. Located a short walk from MG+M’s own Boston location, it has served veterans facing homelessness in downtown Boston since 1989. The group of employees, brought together by MG+M’s Women’s Forum, served soup, sandwiches, dessert, and drinks to the veterans at the center while getting to know its residents. Each day, 50 to 80 veterans have lunch at the center. Each year, the NECHV serves more than 100,000 meals.

NECHV supports veterans with innovative services that enable success, meaningful employment, and dignified independent living. Through the years, as society has developed a greater understanding of the causes and implications of the “homeless” condition, the center has evolved and adapted, growing and adding comprehensive case management, education and employment services, focused recovery services, and behavioral health support.

MG+M’s Women’s Forum is an internal network of dedicated women focused on the professional and personal development of women in our firm. The Forum hosts various educational and charity events with the purpose of providing support for the advancement of women at work while also giving back to the community.  The Forum is always searching for causes and organizations in the communities surrounding our offices to support or partner with. Let a member know if you have a worthy cause.
