MG+M The Law Firm is pleased to present the next installment of our Design Professionals Roundtable series: “Contracts and Disputes–Strategies for Minimizing Risk and Managing Claims.” This session will offer practical guidance on contract terms and dispute resolution strategies to help design professionals proactively manage legal risk.
Moderated by Partner David Hatem and featuring a panel of MG+M partners—Melanie Chung-Tims, John Hugo, Jennifer Whelan and Scott Winikow—this discussion will draw on real-world experience representing design professionals in disputes across the country. The focus will be on how contractual provisions are used during litigation. MG+M attorneys are deeply experienced in defending and advising design professionals in complex legal matters, and this presentation will help attendees understand how certain contractual provisions can affect litigation outcomes.
Specifically, we will address the following types of provisions:
- Standard of care, including the selection of qualified expert witnesses
- Limitation of liability
- Waiver of consequential damages/no damages for delay
- Waiver of subrogation
- Arbitration provisions
We hope you will join us for this timely and insightful discussion.
Continuing Education (CE) credits will be available for this roundtable. Please provide your AIA member number in the registration form. If not provided, we cannot issue your credits, and it will be your responsibility to secure them independently.
