MG+M Partner David Hatem will speak at the UCA North American Tunneling Conference on Wednesday, June 17. The session will be held in person at the Anaheim Marriott in Anaheim, California.
David will present alongside Donald Del Nero of WSP at 1:35 p.m. PT in a session titled “Early Contractor Involvement Approaches on Tunnel Projects: Challenges and Opportunities.” Their presentation will explore ECI delivery methods—including Construction Management at Risk (CMAR), Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC), and Progressive Design-Build (PDB)—and their growing but still nascent application in tunnel projects across North America. They will address key challenges such as price competition, cost transparency, and post-award escalation risks, while highlighting opportunities for collaborative risk allocation, means and methods compatibility, and expedited dispute resolution.
The conference brings together tunneling professionals from across North America to discuss the latest developments in underground construction.
