MG+M The Law Firm (MG+M) Partner Raúl J. Chacón Jr., chair of the firm's Maritime Practice, will speak at the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) Marine Law Symposium on Wednesday, April 6 at the Crowne Plaza in Providence, Rhode Island.
Raúl and Robert Taylor, principal engineer at Design Research Engineering, will discuss how they worked together to successfully defend a large boat manufacturer in a case that at first glance was all but certain to lead to heavy losses for the boat manufacturer. The critical analysis of evidence and legal issues by both Raul and Mr. Taylor in a high stakes “Bet the Farm” case that involved catastrophic personal injuries walks all through the delicate dance that can decide the outcome of a case. Their extensive work, that was funded by the manufacturer, demonstrates how essential it is to carefully analyze the evidence before reaching a conclusion.
