Overview

Jason Kramer focuses his practice on matters involving architects and engineers, construction-related actions, and complex civil litigation. He represents clients in contractual and other business and commercial disputes, insurance coverage matters, and personal injury defense.

Before joining MG+M, Jason practiced at several New York law firms, where he handled a broad range of matters. His experience includes disputes involving limited partnerships, derivative actions, breach of contract, and employment-related claims. He has extensive background in both contract and tort-based construction litigation, as well as experience in maritime and transportation matters.

Novel issues Jason has successfully addressed include defeating efforts to compel arbitration under an agreement covered by the Federal Arbitration Act, by attacking the procedural conscionability of the arbitration provision; obtaining a court order compelling a self-insured company to directly pay for the defense costs of another company that they were required to name as an additional insured on their primary insurance policy; vacating a default judgment against an extinct corporation on the request of a different business adversely affected by the judgment; and obtaining summary judgment when it required attacking the foundational evidence supporting an opposing expert’s conclusions.
