Overview

John Balaes focuses his practice on products liability matters and represents manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors through all phases of litigation.

Before joining MG+M, John practiced intellectual property law, handling complex patent matters in federal courts and before the International Trade Commission and Patent Trial and Appeal Board. He also represented clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a registered patent agent. His experience includes intellectual property transactions and licensing matters involving pharmaceutical, medical, electrical, mechanical, and computer hardware and software technologies.

During law school, John served as an editor of the Cornell International Law Journal and as president of the Intellectual Property and Technology Association.
