John Lim focuses his practice on consulting and professional liability matters for architects and engineers involved in large infrastructure projects, including bridges and highways. He provides insurers with detailed risk analysis and insight into emerging risks, including issues related to artificial intelligence (AI), to support the claims management process.
John has extensive experience managing claim issues in Design-Build projects across civil, structural, geotechnical, and MEP disciplines. His work includes pre-award issues related to quantity growth from preliminary design and post-award issues involving structural design and conflicts in final design, particularly on roadway improvement, tunneling, and bridge construction projects.
Earlier in his career, John served as associate general counsel at a public sector labor union and worked as a solo practitioner, representing clients in contract, disability, bankruptcy, debt collection, probate, criminal, unemployment, workers’ compensation, personal injury, real estate, and domestic relations matters.
