Raghu Bandlamudi is a seasoned litigator with more than three decades of experience representing public utilities and public companies in various industries in complex multiparty toxic and mass tort litigation. Raghu also has extensive experience in general liability, breach of warranty claims, and professional liability actions in state and federal courts in New York and New Jersey.
Raghu has represented a number of defendants in asbestos litigation as both local and national counsel for more than 20 years. He has represented companies allegedly responsible for manufacturing equipment that incorporates asbestos-containing components, companies sued under premises liability theories and companies sued under the Labor Law. As part of a national coordinating counsel team, Raghu has overseen every phase of hundreds of cases, from initial analysis and response through trial or settlement, in multiple jurisdictions.
Raghu has also served on the national trial team for defendants in the asbestos litigation. He has prepared fact and expert witnesses for trial and handled depositions and cross-examinations of adverse expert witnesses in the areas of medicine, industrial hygiene, state-of-the-art, general liability, and professional liability.
Raghu has tried a number of asbestos and non-asbestos cases to verdict. He has also negotiated numerous multi-jurisdictional settlements with many plaintiffs’ firms in toxic tort matters. Raghu has served as trial counsel on behalf of equipment manufacturers and premises defendants in more than 40 trials in the New York City Asbestos Litigation (NYCAL) docket and various counties in Long Island and Upstate New York. He has also proposed, designed, and implemented an extranet system to enable clients, local counsel, national counsel, and trial counsel to work more effectively and realize transactional cost savings. Raghu has also conducted numerous lead examinations of plaintiffs alleging malignant diseases resulting from exposure to asbestos.
