Overview

Stephanie Selman focuses her practice on civil defense, managing a diverse caseload that encompasses first- and third-party property defense, insurance coverage disputes, products liability, asbestos litigation, general liability defense litigation and aviation law. Her experience includes integral roles within trial teams, particularly in high-stakes, multi-million-dollar actions. This involves active participation in pre-trial conferences, drafting and arguing pre-trial motions, trial documents, and briefs. She defends companies of all sizes—from family-run businesses to international Fortune 100 companies and their insurers—in products liability cases and civil litigation, with a reputation for providing effective, strategic and efficient legal representation.

Stephanie is fluent in English, Spanish and French. She was born in New York City and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She obtained her first law degree from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) in the Dominican Republic, where she is also licensed to practice. She then received the Rafael C. Benitez Scholarship to pursue an LLM in US and transnational law for foreign lawyers at the University of Miami School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida. Upon completion, Stephanie then continued to pursue a JD, which she was conferred in 2016. Stephanie’s outside interests include cooking, traveling and spending time with her fiancé, son and dogs, Thor and Nala.
