Corporate Counsel
August 30, 2022

Overview

MG+M The Law Firm Managing Partner and Chief Diversity Officer Amaryah K. Bocchino has been selected by Corporate Counsel as an honoree in its 2022 Women, Influence & Power in Law Awards. These awards honor general counsel, in-house leaders and law firm partners who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the empowerment of women in law.

Corporate Counsel distinguishes the honorees as business strategists, complex problem-solvers and great lawyers who stand out as a result of their personal dedication to the promotion of diversity in the legal industry. As MG+M’s managing partner, chief diversity officer and Executive Committee member, Amaryah is recognized in the category of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Champion. This category is designated for leaders who have taken an active role in fostering diversity, equity and inclusion in the legal industry at large and have made significant, measurable impacts on their organization in driving real, lasting change.

Since joining MG+M in 2009, Amaryah has established herself as a dynamic leader while building a thriving practice. As an associate, she was responsible for helping the firm expand outside of New England and assisted in opening the firm’s Delaware office alongside Partner Jason Cincilla. Since then, Amaryah has helped open additional offices, recruiting diverse professionals throughout the country and seeing the firm grow to more than 130 attorneys working collaboratively across 13 offices. Three years after being named a partner, Amaryah was appointed as the firm’s youngest-ever managing partner.

As Amaryah was building her practice and demonstrating her leadership capabilities, she was also having important conversations and implementing internal efforts to create a more inclusive firm culture. Her proactive role in the diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) space garnered attention from firm leadership, and she was appointed chief diversity officer. Leading the firm’s DEIB efforts, Amaryah founded the firm’s DEIB Partner Committee, DEIB Roundtable, pro bono committee and the national Women’s Forum, which she co-chairs. In addition to her efforts to make MG+M a more inclusive workplace, Amaryah prioritizes helping women through pro bono work and regularly supports charitable organizations serving women and the community.

Amaryah will be honored at an awards dinner as part of Corporate Counsel’s annual Women, Influence & Power in Law Conference.
