Overview

Jennifer A. Whelan is a partner in MG+M’s Boston office. She is a proven litigator whose practice focuses on defense of asbestos, mass tort, products liability, and general liability matters. Jennifer also has experience in areas such as construction liability, premises liability, vehicle liability, medical malpractice, environmental pollution, dram shop, and consumer protection.

In addition, Jennifer serves as national coordinating counsel in asbestos litigation matters. In this role, she works closely with a variety of corporate and expert witnesses to prepare cohesive litigation defense strategies. She has also served as defendants’ liaison counsel for asbestos litigation in the state of Rhode Island.  In this role she communicated directly with all plaintiffs’ counsel, defendants’ counsel, and the justice assigned to all asbestos cases to ensure proper organization of the litigation and to address and resolve issues effectively. As defendants’ liaison counsel, she also served as defendants’ representative at all hearings, matters, and motions pertaining to the litigation.

As a result of Jennifer’s role in coordinating complex asbestos litigation, she advises companies on a variety of matters related to nationwide issues affecting the defense and resolution of such cases, including Medicare compliance issues. She is often invited to give lectures on matters related to her nationwide coordination activities, including Medicare compliance topics.

Jennifer received her law degree from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts in 1995, graduating cum laude. She earned her B.S. from the University of Michigan in 1991.
