MG+M Secures Defense Verdict for Multinational E-Commerce Company
May 9, 2024

Overview

On May 8, 2024, MG+M The Law Firm Partner Christian H. Gannon and Associate Joel Merchant secured a defense verdict from a New York City area jury for a multinational e-commerce company in a New York Labor Law construction case.

The plaintiff, a 57-year-old union electrician, was working on the construction of a three-million-square-foot facility for the receipt and shipment of e-commerce materials. He claimed he suffered career-ending injuries when he fell because of an unsafe worksite condition. The plaintiff sought $6 million in damages.

After a two-week trial and six hours of deliberations, the jury returned a unanimous verdict in favor of MG+M’s client. The jury found that MG+M’s client did not play a role in creating the alleged unsafe condition nor did any of its activities cause the plaintiff to fall.

The trial success was due to the outstanding efforts of the entire trial team, which also included Associates Ryan Sweeney, Christian Martinotti and Joseph Celotto; Manager of AV Trial Technology Timothy Givens; Paralegal Mary Spillane; and Medical Legal Consultant Sophia Larig.
