Overview

Lauren Smith is a Chicago land native who represents clients in asbestos litigation. Before joining MG+M's Madison County/St. Louis office, Lauren began her career as an in-house counsel at Lumeris, a value-based healthcare company, where she gained key experience in health plan regulatory matters, corporate governance and professional licensure.

Lauren is a True Tiger, as she graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with BA degrees in Psychology and Sociology in 2017 and a JD/MHA dual degree from the University of Missouri School of Law in 2020. While in law school, Lauren was a published member of the Journal of Dispute Resolution, studied abroad in South Africa and served as a student advocate in the Midwest Innocence Clinic. She also served as president and regional board member for the Black Law Students Association and worked as a teaching fellow for Professional Responsibility. Lauren competed on two moot court teams and was inducted into the National Order of Barristers for her outstanding demonstration of oral advocacy.

Lauren is an active member of the Illinois and Missouri State Bar Associations and her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She serves as committee chair in the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis Young Lawyers Division.

Lauren resides in St. Louis, Missouri, and in her spare time she is likely shopping, traveling, and enjoying friends and family.
